Thanks Tom. I have Spybot, so I'll look at it when I get home,. and I'll give MoveOnBoot a try... wont be until I get home later though... I'll post back results.....

I just can't see a startup app doing that unless it's some kind of keystroke software (keystroke logger trojan maybe but they don't normally play the keystrokes, they record them). I'd try another keyboard if you have an extra and see if it still does it. Also the key combination of CTRL + ESC opens the start menu, not that it matters but there are only 4 ways to open the start menu. Click it with the mouse, Windows logo key, CTRL + ESC, and ALT + S.
