WTF? I love that feature in Quack! It's the only thing about Quack I do like anymore. Multiple tabs means I can have everything in one document. And use all the same support files. Funny how One man's meat is another man's poison.

I understand benefits both ways, depends on details of workflows, nice to have individual items to rip or refine to have certain file names (Jez)...
but also doable to process as-is and work the details out that way (almaink)...
what I don't like about the feature is designers using it then leaving no clue, so the job is (inaccurately) on hold for "3 missing items" in the morning, ya know?

The only way I could see that happening is an operator with no clue. If I was a customer who prepared a file in Quark with multiple tabs and got a call asking where the missing files where, I'd find another printer for my next job. RTFM is always prevalent when using unfamiliar software.

I hear ya, but I was (secretly) referring to when it first came out I guess... I would be "dissappointed" if an operator missed it now - especially if the lasers had the Quark IDs showing same doc name p1 over and over (get a clue)

I've had documents/files where I've had so little info that I have no idea what's happening.

Multi layered and multi layouts within those layers and layouts. It's not gonna make me smile! A Page a Layer in Illy is nothing in comparison, no matter what.

Very poor implementation from QX and zero understanding from 'creatives'

yeah, that's where reasonably good laser mockups and/or a brief "decoder" note could make or break a project like this. Like anything else, "too much power in the wrong hands..."
