Tool for replacing non-CMYK colours in a PPF file (Windows)
Hi,
One of my friends asked me for this and I wrote him a Perl script which does that job by replacing non-Cyan/Magenta/Yellow/Black colour names with SPOT1..SPOTn.
The installer creates a desktop icon where you can drop your target files onto and the script creates a <yourfilename>_hack.ppf file into the folder the original file was at.
Comes with full source code and absolutely no warranty Requires ActivePerl installed into C:\Perl. Licensed under the GNU GPL.
Hope someone else too finds it useful.
Download from here.
Regards,

I had to vote Grandmother's Cat because it is JUST random enough for me to appreciate the humor. 8)
otherwise, dont have a need for the script but interested in hearing whether testers find it to be helpful or not..

(Un)fortunately I don't know anything about printing but the beginning of the file says:
Quote:
%!PS-Adobe-3.0
%%CIP3-File Version 2.1
%% Deltatec Cip3 Ver7.5.000 DeltaOnlyWF PrinterWF

I can only assume that it's for PowerPoint files, maybe he meant PPT files?
No offense, but I'm not installing a random EXE file to my work machines that's got little or no documentation, just to "see what it does." :?

I'm pretty sure, PowerPoint files don't begin with "%!PS-Adobe-3.0"
And if you want to see, what it does, look at the source code

PPF is CIP3 Print Production Format
From www.cip4.org:
Quote:

CIP3, was formed by Heidelberg in 1995 and was managed by the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics. CIP3 created the Print Production Format (PPF), which has found some success in ink key pre-setting and postpress operations.
