Get rid of Photoshop DCS 1 or 2 and use PSD

Get rid of the DCS and make a PSD'S.

.:: WARNING ::.

This has not ben tested in earlier version of Illustrator and Photoshop then CS.

Quote:
Open your DCS 2 file in photoshop, make sure its not in multichannel and well in cmyk mode.
You need to have at least one layer, ( if you have a layer called Background with the little locket on it, it wont work. )
Double click your Background layer to make it Layer 0.

.:: DO NOT FLATEN THE DOCUMENT ::.

In Photoshop CS save the file as a .psd ( you should see a window asking to maximize compatibility, use this option. )
Then in Illustrator CS replace ( via the link pallet ) your EPS DCS 2 files with your new .psd file.

You will not be able to down res images in Acrobat i recommend doing your PDF's from illustrator.

I am using this method to insert Illustrator/Photoshop with spot color files in to Prinergy, instead of using Sampler for DCS.
