Spot Color Suffix Conversion

Hi,

On Trueflow 2.10 is it possible to set it up so spot color suffixes ie CVU CVC, are automatically converted to C. If it is could antbody possibly explain how? On TF3 there is a parameter COLOR_SUFFIX_SRC in the Application Tab of System Setup, but I can't see it on the TF2.10 equivalent.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks in advance.

In TF3 there is a checkbox called "Adjust PANTONE color Name (CVC, CV - C)". This is accessed when inputting a file via the "Spot Colour Filter" option. Unfortunately I can't remember how it worked in TF2 but prior to any auto RIP option I think the only other option was the "TPX" extension used in QuarkXPress for this purpose.

There may be. I can't remember.

The easiest way it to upgrade :P

However, back in the real world.....

Go to your trueflow system folder, (Probably called 'trueflow' or 'trueflowV2.1' or something like that. may be on your D: drive)

to the following file:-

D:/truflow/sys/system/setup/KOUSUI_Setup.txt

TAKE A BACKUP OF THIS FILE!!!!!!! (the most important step of the whole process)

Open in wordpad/notepad

Search for the line 'REPLACE_SPOTNAME_CVC_CV: "0"'

Change to 'REPLACE_SPOTNAME_CVC_CV: "1"'

Also search for 'COLOUR_SUFFIX_SRC: XXXXXXX' (The XXXXX could be anything)

Change to 'COLOUR_SUFFIX_SRC: " CVC, CV, CVU, CVV, CU, V, U"' (You can put any appendage you like here to be replace, remember the space though)

And the last one:-

Search for 'COLOR_SUFFIX_DST: " C"' and put in what you want to replace appendage with, in this case ' C'. Always fun to change it to 'twat' or 'bob' etc

I really wouldn't advise fiddling with anything in here unless you are brave and have full confidence in your backups. Only change one thing at a time as well. In my experience even the staff at screen are clueless on most of these!
