White Type spreading

I have a client who is using the Truflow Rip. I sent him a pdf last night created out of Indesign CS 1 to rip. When he rips the file - a line of white type is spreading. He told me doesn't have the trapping Module to customize his traps.

Now the white type that is spreading is sitting on top of a text box where the type has the drop shadow effect applied. This looks to be the culprint. I was able to fix the problem by moving certain elements to another layer sitting on top of the text with the drop shadow.

He sometimes gets pdfs supplied to him with the same problem and does not have access to the native files.

My question is there some kind of setting that he could set up - so that the white type will not spread when it goes across an area that has transparnecy when he rips the pdfs.

Thanks

if I understand the problem correctly, it sounds like a similar problem I was having for awhile. Ask him to look in the "options" of the "auto-trap" in Trueflow and UNCHECK the box beside ->"Enable kickbacks on traps between white text(tints, strokes) and images.

This solved ALL of my white/knockout white type issues.

Don't use CS1, lots of problems were fixed in CS2.
