Trapping

 Has anyone had problems setting up the auto trapper to work well with transparencies from Indesign CS2? Im currently on TF3 and do not have the full trap editor. However, when I run a layered PDF file through the auto trapper, the trapper makes a mess of the artwork adding in art effects caused by the trap settings. Has this happend to anyone and is there a quick fix?

Also, the problem lies within the flattening of the transparency, I think? The situation: I would have vector art hanging outside, beyond the drop shadow (that was made in ID) on top of a vector base background.
The problem with trapping: The trap issue that is happening is all the vector work traps great however, where my vector art work that is inside the shadow area has become rasterized and the trap is not made. Is this common? And how and what should I tell my pressman and clients?

Or. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am a newbie to the forum but any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks.

I think the problem lies in CS2. I'm working in CS1, sending all my distilled pdf's through trueflow 3 to a screen platerite8100. And trapping and stuff works fine in my workflow. Try saving your CS2 to open it in CS1, distill a pdf from acrobat 6 (included in CS1) and try to trueflow that one. Be sure to distill!!!! Exporting is messing up transparancies anyway, so be sure to distill to a correct profile.Download the correct distiller settings at (www.ghentpdfworkgroup.be - quick links - downloads) and drop 'm on distiller. Don't use acrobat 7 pdf's, that's trouble!!!
