illustrator file (logo) coming out black

Hello again people

Here's a right cracker!!

I have a logo made in illustratorCS. This logo is placed in quark over a cmyk tif in two separate places (front and back cover). The PDF looks fine. When placed in Trueflow the logo comes out fine on the back cover but appears black on the front cover. Tried every workaround possible. Anyone have any ideas apart from throwing Trueflow out the window!!!

sounds more like a quark feature to me. try recreating the piece in a new quark file or better yet Indesign....

or try placing pdf that "looks fine" in InDesign and reexport pdf... has helped me in the past..... sucks but so does werking with quirk.

ALSO> what is your procedure fer getting the pdf out of quirk?... ps then distill or export to pdf...?

From Quark We make a PS first and then distill.

Putting the pdf into indesign and exporting done the trick!!
