Sales Trying to Micro manage production

I think there should be a new industry standard. Any sales person trying to direct the workflow of production should be promptly shot.

Sorry, I can't pull design jobs out of my butt while simultaniously sending a proof to a high maintainence customer and throw plates through the CTP.

Oh yeah, and NO sales person is EVER allowed to tell me when I can or can't go home. Turds. When my warm hot wifey is at home waiting for me, I'm not hanging around because you made yet another promise I can't keep at 6:55pm. BUTTWADS!! RAAARWWWW!!!!

In another life, I worked in a commercial shop wherein the sales reps were absolutely FORBIDDEN to have any contact with production staff...they were to work with CSR's, dept. managers, etc. for any info on their jobs. Made things easier on the production staff, and also provided the salesperson with a single-source contact. More places should do it that way....especially when, in your case, getting laid is on the line!!

I completely agree with this. Sales WILL screw up EVERYTHING if involved. And to think we just kicked over another rock to hire another sales person last week.

Thank you for validating me.

YEAH!
I agree too, better to have 1 point person to handle details, not a committee of half-asses that don't talk to each other...
anyway,
next time you're being micro-managed: lean in close and whisper so only they hear "I don't come down where you work and slap the cock out of your mouth"...
If that's not "appropriate", then say "...slap the license plate out of your hands" as a less vulgar alternative

Throw that F-ing job in the cupboard and when they check on it tomorrow say "i dunno, I saw you had it yesterday, i don;t know where it is"
(j/k) but I really hate reps in production, we limit it.

You know, Our sales manager was ego tripping one day and swore I lost customer originals due to my prepress sloppiness, and it turned up in his glove box later that day. The glory of that moment.

So now that I think of it, I will do this thing you suggest just to keep him humble. LOL!!
