My daily hell.

Working in packaging we see this all the time. I especially like it when they use "custom spot purple", or "logo red".

PERFECT! This is my "favorite" thing: The Sales rep says "yeah, yeah, yeah... just tell me the color used in the file!" and I get to go back and say "Ace red 4" (you S.O.B!) shall I call the ink vendor for you and see if it's in stock? HAR HAR!

b2p and yez - packaging here as well and boy do i love it when that happens

burts blue or whatever - always a winner....makes my day

csr fill in sheet - colours say "prepress to advise from artwork"

so - burts blue it is then....what i do when i see this is ask csr to do some calls to find out what it is supposed to be - and we go from there

strangely enough we do get quite a few times where a custom "ink" has been created and we have to run a cromalin and get the ink matched

of course this goes to rat shit when customer turns up for a press pass holding a carton printed 5 years ago and asks us to match it....fun fun fun

I've seen some funny spot colors from designers who stay up too late and become frustrated in the wee hours of the morning, it cracks me up... Fu@%ing Orange, etc...

YEARS ago, I received a floppy from a junior artist for a pretty classy design firm called "I HATE THAT F*****G B**CH!"
I knew her pretty well professionally, so I teasingly asked her about it...
BOY WAS SHE EMBARRASSED!
She let me in on the fact that she was venting about her boss and meant to change it (but forgot)
good times.

Looks like it broke out process and trapped with those reds? Is that part of a gradation or Illustrator file or something vector?
