Could you set up an action in photoshop to open and resave all the images, something like that. It will take some of the tedium out of the process. Just a thought.

Have a good gig

I'm goofing off here as I'm trying to get the job to rip. It finally ripped!! YESSSSSSSSSS!

Oh, and guess what? I'm an idiot. Know what the problem was? Wait for it.....stylized fonts! The most basic aspect of preflighting a job and I overlooked it for five hours of diagnostics. It's amazing how humbling something like that is. We never have a problem with stylized fonts but what happened this time was that the suspect fonts were linking to the corrupt fonts in the system font folder. At lease I can impo the job and go home in an hour.

Uh oh, I hope the Prepress Gods didn't hear that!

Thanks for the advice, Jezza. I was trying to isolate the problem page and I thought it would be a photoshop file issue. I had one on another page and had to do a copy/paste into new photoshop document trick to get it to rip hi-res.

I will party tonite. Oh yes.

Makes one wonder why, if it's "the most basic aspect of preflight", that Quark still keeps this "feature".
