I?m in the midle a job right now, and the client even sended the text to speed things up. It's half an hour before closing time, and guess what i find is in the disk? The shotcut 8O

All you need to do is to hook up a network to where the real file is! Some things are so obvious they become confusing.....

no... the client sended the shortcut of his text document instead of the text document itself, on a flopy disk.

If it's a Word document then a phone call (not too irate now) and a quick e-mail should do it. I would expect that whatever the deadline was for the due date, the customer certainly can't expect it to be met now 8O
