well - it arrived - a whole bunch of new software upgrades

all went really well! cs3 installed easily - no issues at all - have run indy and illy and acrobat - all ok so far - we'll see

then....

quark.......

well - went to the site to get a validation code.....and waited.....and waited..and blah blah....

did eventually get it, after going round and round in circles - tried the software and it wouldnt even boot up. lovely.

had to download the updater for the upgrade to get it to even boot up. lord knows what fun i'm going to have with this but so far its not good!

i installed 2 cs3 upgrades and several other bits in less time than 1 quack upgrade - slick huh.

vent over - having a bad day.

I know your pain.
Had the same thing happen to me except I had to call Quack.

2hrs later and finally got someone who spoke better english.

Call center is in India. Nothing against India, But DAMB if your a call center for the States please learn the language.

2 more Hrs later I was up and running. This was only for 1 Mac.

Adobe CS3 took a total of 1hr to upgrade 4 Macs

I know your pain BEER.

right ok disabled extensions quack booted ok

deleted prefs files and enabled extensions and now it boots ok - lovely.

wierd but it boots - so thats a start - not to see how it does in production.......

yeah - apologies for weak vent there - i think all the stress i've been under for the past 6 months <long boring woe-is-me story> has mellowed me - but dont worry - quack will soon put me back on the straight and angry again :?

well the quark dcs to composite pdf issue is still there - i cant ps it, export it, print a pdf - the spot channel does not shot in the pdf at the end of it - its converted to process

unless i'm doing something wrong - which is always possible/probable
