I NEED new job, crying louder

Can't complain, 10 years with the same company, haven't seen a penny for the last 5, haven't seen a minute of overtime in the last 3.
Now I'm out of work because there is no work 8O

sorry I'm an IT manager with a Bank in the Northeast, think I'll spend all my retirement money on this here printing company, then drive it into the ground, cause I want to play with this neat new Xerox Docucolor 250, and pretend I do Digital Printing
In so many words that's just what he did  Now I can take my 35 years of experience and try to find another position here in this barely populated area :x :x I think all the printers in my area take up about 1/5 of one column in the yellow pages, and I know all of them

"I have to let you go, due to a lack of work"

Next time someone says "got a minute" say NO!

Damn that sucks! Is it that you don't have seniority or are they shutting down all together?

Shit Sparky! You out? Man, that sucks.

A similar thing happened to me in my home town, so I had to move down to London. Then I got laid off in February and took 11 weeks for me to find another gig. I hope it works for you Sparky. Don't know what to say.

damn, and here i was wantinig to bash on you for stealing my title, but damn, that whine is worthy of some cheese. The small town scenario is the worst, especially for someone liek you who has been around a long time. My situation is similar, in that i know everyone in town, and dont want to work for the wannabe printers, but that is about all that is left here

if you are able to move, i am sure enough here on ppf can get you some leads. If not, could you try shoveling elephant shit for a living and let me know how that is? I really think it is the way to go.

best of luck sparky

Im sorry to read this . I hope you recover quickly.

I know personally it took me a year of hunting to find a job *due to no experience except 2 years of college*

Even now with a start of 2years in a co + college I cant imagine another co accepting me for a position.

I hope future employers see how much of a valuable asset you can be to them and there co with your experience.

What a pain in the butt Sparky, been in the business around the same amount of time as you and times are really changing in printing. Got my own little hell I've been dealing with. I've heard it is tough up there in upstate NY too. Good luck and you'll land on your feet again cause you got to.
