Wow, nice to hear the support folks, at least I know now there is some peer appreciation.
Earendil, to answer your question, I was the department for 10 years, I had 2 Macs and a PC to handle every job that came into the shop. Then, the new owner decided to get his kid a new DELL along with the Xerox "digital printer" and that was the beginning of the end.
So, if the owner thinks his son can handle it 8O so be it. Not only was I the DTP department but I also set up and maintained the work flow protocols and kept the Printware PlateStream dialed in and running for 8+ years without ever having to have a service visit from the company.

I should start another pool and go for when the company will file for chapter 11 (bankruptcy for those out of the US)

I really do appreciate all the support from this forum and I'll still be hanging around forcing my 2¢ on everyone, unless technology passes me by so fast I start to sound like the ESPN commercial :?

So if there's anyone in the up-state New York area that knows of something, I'd like to hear from you.

Hate to see you get canned by the boss for his kid. I'll put $5.00 in the pool - give the guy six months and he close the doors.

Sparky, there is no if and or buts, this schumk will be calling you soon about problems if he hasn't already. If he doesn't call soon it's because he has no work. At least 1/3 of the work I receive has problems with the files of one form or another. Some kid is not going to even know what to look for let alone fix. :evil:

Well said, jimking. Best of luck to you Sparky. Sounds like the last two years have been
pretty tough. I hope the worm turns to your favor here soon, and you get picked up by
a shop that can appreciate your years of experience.
