I call the Onyx rip that came with our new huge format flatbed inkjet (made by Luscher) the Reader Rabbit 2 rip, because that's about the level of technology it's on. Yes, you can do "color correction" with it, but not really. And why would you even think it was a good idea in the first place? Geeze.
When I asked the install tech, this really cool and very bright guy from Switzerland, why we couldn't drive the inkjet via our Nexus rip, he said that of course we could (with a little fiddling with drivers, which we've done before), but that wasn't what the boss told him to do.
I just work here. If they ask me a question, they'll get the right answer, which isn't what they want, so they don't generally bother to ask anymore. They'll go ask someone who hasn't the slightest clue and get the answer they do want. Six months later, when it turns out I'm right, they just look through me at the wall behind my head if I bring it up. So I just don't bother anymore. Four years and seven months 'til retirement. The countdown has begun.
