Hehe, I always read that as "Turkey Solutions." Makes as much sense I guess.

Ability to discipline staff.

What's up with the staff? How naughty can they be?

Very naughty, such as smoking a cigarette outside, punching in 1 minute late, using the bathroom too many times, making a mistake in a perfect trade, getting sick, making too much money, not able to work 24 hours straight, bitching about MS Word files, talking about idiot clients, calling the salesman a carpet bagger, not able to output 32 page spot color Pub file in an hour for client who's going on vacation again. 8O

- ability to make screwed up faces when thinking

As on owner of a small ( 7 Staff ) Printing firm in Oz. I worked the prepress and production area for the first 5 years single handed and yes it is a P.I.A.

Answering phones, serving at the counter, explaining layouts to unhelpful printers etc.... it burn's you out for sure.
I now have excellent staff in these roles, which I backup with experience.

The pressure is market driven. Clients have been expecting better, faster, cheaper for years. Anyone who can use Microsoft Paint or Publisher is now an instant "Graphic Artist" with no concept of preperation and production times required for some jobs.

CTP, Digital presses etc. are now common knowledge in the retail market and clients are demanding to order today for delivery tommorow.

It's not the always the owners who tighten the financials, prepress, production and delivery times.

It would be great to, for once, work for an owner who has experience in todays modern prepress. I bet you do have a good staff.
