Time Remaining: About 3000 hours

So I was unstuffing an archive with the latest version of StuffIt, which I downloaded last week.

Time remaining: 500 hours, 1000 hours....over 3000 hours! Wow - that must be a pretty big file!

'Til I remembered I had set my computer clock one year ahead when installing StuffIt to elude the demo expiration. Huh.

OK, I'll bite.

Why are you trying to defeat the time expiration after only one week??

Why are you documenting a case of Piracy, screenshots and all??

and finally,
Are you being forced by your employer to pirate software due to a budget requirement??

Or, are you talking about your home computer?

If so, never mind all of the previous rambling. I've never bought any software in my whole life. I've even built about 100 computers for friends and family without giving Bill Gates a dime. In fact alot of people actually solicit me for software because they know that I always download the latest version of everything. I have even sold computers to government agencies that had completely bogus versions of Windows installed.

Wait......is this being recorded???

I'm outta here

I had one just the other day that seemed to hang a bit at the start. It kicked off so I went outside for a smoke. When I got back in the time remaining had jumped to an 8 digit number in hours! remaining. Needless to say the stuffit file was shagged.

stuffit always reports innacurate times, as well as frequently generating corrupted archives. I wish everyone would upgrade to at least 10.3 and use the built-in zip archive feature of OSX.

I have found the built in zip on osx makes the fonts zero kb in size. Something to do with the resource fork?

I would think that the data fork would be the prob. a zero resource fork means nothing.

When you ctrl click on a folder/document there is an option to "create archive of..."

If you try to unzip on a pc, or i think with an older version of stuffit the, then you will lose resource forks. Otherwise on OSX 10.3 or better all is well.
