now that's funny!!!!!!!!

layers so you can make changes!!! what a maroon!
I was gonna say you can fix it by reducing the file down (maybe 50%) so it will res up and keep all them fonts from looking real fuzzy!!!

hahahahaha!

happy good friday!

might need a couple or three cold ones after that!

yeah, this guy is a real piece of work - he doesn't like me so he has to have another wannabe designer call me to ask how to set files up, and then he does what he wants anyway

AND? get this, the owner has booked my afternoon to teach a customer how to use illustrator - this customer has been using pagemaker 6.5 up untiil now and has no clue

sigh?

i need to ask for another raise

I received this job the other day. A full color 12x9 6panel brochure on a 22x17 page size in Photoshop. No layered file supplied, no bleeds created, 4" folds don't match color panels resulting in incorrect crossovers. I was told to output proofs anyway (which I've always been against, bounce it back or talk to cliente). Job comes back with type corrections (black type on brown background). These corrections went on for 5 rounds with no one talking to this woman. Finally was able to convince some knuckle heads to let her come to the plant so we can fix this mess. I advised her next time to use a page layout program. She said she had Quark but liked the Photoshop view better! Idiot.

If designers are better than prepress, they make more per hour and charge more for the design work.
If prepress fixes all of the problems and re-designs files for print, than why do we get paid less? Especially since we can't get away with knowing one app, working on one machine, and have to know how to magically make raster images become vector and how to get spot colors to work with transparency.

Our jobs are as thankless as garbage men!
