You guys are really bringing back the memories.
When I started, we had a Kenro vertical camera and we used to tray develop everything. Halftone Bump & Flashes were all done by Eye on an as needed basis. Even the timing of the lights was done manually with a light switch. Kind of a joke now days but it did work.

I used to make chokes and spread with layers of mylar and a diffusion sheet in a contact frame, but we had a timer for that -- a big clock looking thing. (before the days of the micro-modifier).

All our type was done by "type-setters" on a big compugraphic machine where the fonts had to be loaded on a drum. Only 1 font at a time.
It was more like a fancy slot machine with a flashlight inside it.

I don't miss those days at all.

You know what I miss? The original Mickey Mouse Club. I was a charter member. Watched it every afternoon in the early '50s. Had a Mousketeer hat with mouse ears and everything. Then they made me go to gradeschool. Dang!

Was that "Romper Room?" I hated that show. It was for LITTLE kids. It seems like it was a local franchise or something like that; in Pittsburgh it was Miss Somebody Else.

We also had "Captain Jim's Popeye Club" and "Rodney & Knish" (the Rodney puppet, I think, moved to Mr. Rogers Neighborhood, Rodney Nugent Hackenflash III. Knish was a cotton mop head with a big round wooden nose. He was last seen lying in a gutter beside an empty bottle of Pine-Sol.)

Yeah don't forget about Bozo the Clown and Capt Kangaroo.
I never liked the Romper Room thing either.

Speaking of which that was the era of the Japeneese cartoons like Speed Racer. Terrible Terrible Terrible graphics!
Funny thing is my kids watch those type (bad graphics) of cartoons today and think they're great. I've never liked those Pokemon-DragonBallZ- Speed Racer type cartoons.

Think about for just one second, the quality of any Warner Brothers cartoon, both in content and image quality. It makes me wonder what the hell happened.
Bugs Bunny, Foghorn Leghorn etc.
