we had to lay off an employee last week..really gut wrenching...

job was replaced by a CTP unit.. Takes the excitement out of the new machine that's for sure.

It could be worse.

Many years ago a friend got me this job working with him. After 10 plus years of working, car pooling and having lunch with him, I became his boss. Not really a happy camper. A year later I was told that the company was downsizing, and the I had to let him go.

It was REALLY TOUGH!

garmp, that's about the same situation. Shorter time frame though. He worked here for 3 years. He still hasn't found a job that I know of.
