Just a little off line but at least close?
I just e-mailed the technical staff at LaCie (yes the big maker of really neat computer stuff) and asked them if their Firewire800 PCI card would work on my system.
(make a long story short, I blew the firewire ports on my G3) I have my G3 upgraded with a Sonett G4-500 CPU and I'm running OS 10.3.9, ok I lay out my system to them and refer to the requirements sheet on their web site that says it needs a G4 or G5 running OS 10.2.4 or later....
