Acrobat 7 already????

6.01 only came out last year November- what the hell??? And checking out the PDF Planet reviews, it seems like Acrobat's including some Pitstop stuff - converting colors etc., but I doubt they've added enough to outdo the Pitstop + Acrobat 6 combination.

Man! At least PC game developers of the major titles take their time before rushing out and releasing something new!

it doesn't suprise me that Adobe would include more flexiblity as far as converting colors and such. Prepare to see Pitstop vanish. The same exact thing happened to Lantana Software's Crackerjack. That plugin handled separations, crop marks and page output sizes where Acrobat 4 couldn't tread water, and I used to use it quite a bit. Now look where it's at.... integrated into version 6.

I would have to say overall it's a good thing though, IMO. I want more control over pdf elements without using 3rd party software.

Then again, it's almost scary how much Adobe is really dominating and has a say in this niche of the technology market. Not just regular scary. Microsoft scary.

Except for one MAJOR difference - Adobe makes good software.

I remember when Quark did too. Adobe as a dtp monopoly scares me - I wish quark would give them a run for their money, but version 6.5 has just about sunk their boat.

On the plus side of it all, as long as competitors enable users to created press ready PDFs the field should stay open... in theory at least...

I'm going to go back to my charcoals and acrylics in my free time... I need relief from all of the application upgrades updates and problems and patches and computers in general...
