Chill out Pointy, I used to do it all the time before my boss shelled out for Booklitizer. Anyway once you hand off the files it's her problem not yours. You want to hear a real problem I got and 80page ad book Quark 6.1 that I can't save as .ps or PDF. I've tried everything including the Creo PXT extension and Quark quits or I get the beach ball of death. I'm downloading 6.5 as I write this hoping beyond hope that it will make this sucker work. The job is being output to plate and they need a PDF not the native Quark file.

This is probably too much but can you save the book as an eps? then distill that? or is that just naive on my part.
I will never be able to chill again now that He who Must Not Be Named has been reelected. :P

The update to 6.5 fixed the problem. At least something is working, it's been a hell week for me. My tree-stand and bow hunting stuff was ripped off Monday, I went to DMV to get a Photo license yesterday so I can get on the plane Saturday to go on my vacation and there servers were down so they couldn't do it and now I have to go back today and then this morning my cars head gasket went cu-puts.

Thanks, I was gonna ask you for a good luck charm I've seem to have lost my guardian angel. My wife says it's because I voted for you know who. LOL. Orlando, Fl., golfing for a week. I've never played down south, so it should be fun. First vacation in 20 years. I hope this place survives without me. I just sent out that 80 pager for DTP. I'll have paper proofs this afternoon, I hope.

Okay, I may be dense here but why can't the chick place the PDF into Quark and move the pages around to her hearts content?

She can do whatever she wants with my PDF. Not my Quark file. But Joe, think about it, bringing a 40 page pdf into Quark just to set up printers spreads is a huge waste of time. You can strip it faster. Or I know guys who can anyway,

I can do an 80 pager by hand in Q4.11 in about 5 minutes, if it's set up right from the get go. Keep in mind I'm a stripper with 25 years on the table and have been making pagination dummies all that time. But items crossing pages and split pages can make it a long proposition. Container boxes that cross gutters can also cause problems and if you use auto page # forget it if you don't have the Apple script to keep the page #s intact. Thats why I bought Bookletizer, it does it in seconds for, I think I paid $49, on special. It's $69 retail. And even a version for Quark 6.x.

Get the demo Pointy and send her printers spreads yourself.
