"NORM is a pain in the ass and not as fast or consistent a workflow as ROOM"
? Can you elaborate on that? I use it without rear-end pain on occasion when needed.

well, I tried it a few times in 9.4 because I wanted to send true ripped PDF's to my customers, but IMO...having to make PDF's from the native applications took longer and the files were considerably larger than using the OPI workflow. Especially when it comes to making corrections and re-ripping.
I prefer an OPI with EPS files for the speed and ease of use. When I have had complex trapping issues, the new PDF engine has worked wonders.

Hey, I want to thank everyone for their help. I am going to take all this information back to my boss. I know it's not what everyone at our company is going to want to hear about post rip pdfs, but it is what I suspected, and it confirms what I was saying about them. Hopefully we can figure out solution!
thanks again!

Have you looked at Rampage Remote? Online remote proofing that intergrates direct with Rampage. Uses Hi Res Jpeg data, worth a look.

I thought rampage remote used a version of the monitor proof data shared over the internet? Better than a jpeg plus it allows some client interaction.
sounds like the way to go for Albonshasta but it's an expensive option.

Geeez, I must be brain dead. I should have offered this earlier since I do it all the time.
Does you client use Macs? If so give them a copy of the trap it app. Then you can mail/ftp them the *.out file from the job. Small file, sharp and all sorts of extra goodies then can do with it. Clients I have doing it love it.
I thought that's what RAMpage Remote was supposed to be and not a jpeg.

We have been using Rampage Remote for at least three months now, and it has been a hit. The customers make notes in the monitor proofs and it is easier to double check exactly what they want. Also, it allows us to flash it, to compare previous revisions. It is pricey, but worth it for us.
