OPI Workflow & PDF's

How do you save out a PDF using OPI and still have Rampage link to the hi-res images?

Same way as an eps, just change the option in the FPO dialog box. You may need RAMPage version 10 to do this tho.

no...from what I understand it's not possible and Rampage is not working on it

the only way to take advantage of OPI is still in the EPS workflow

It's definitely possible, as I do it all day long here. Complete PDF workflow including PDF FPO's.

I don't think you're grasping what I mean...I use FPO's too, to place in Preps...after the single pages have been ripped

Well you never said a word about using Preps. I don't use preps I do all my Impo in InDesign and use PDF's with FPO for OPI. I don't make the PDF's using OPI, I make an FPO of the PDF's as a PDF and place those into Indy then use OPI to replace those with the hires versions.

not much different than using Quark to do Imposition, which I've done for near a decade now. When most your work is single page n-up there's not a lot to justify expensive imposition software. I do miss it when we get high page count book work though.

I'm not sure I understand your original question. Are you trying to use PDF wrapped FPOs, or are you trying to use OPI inside of a PDF page?

Doesn't hurt at all. I have templates set up in Indy for everything we do. All I have ta do is relink a new PDF FPO to the template. Couldn't be any easier.
