PS out from Rampage

Does anyone use the PS out option to send files to an imagesetter, if so does it work OK if not what problems have you experienced.

Why would you go ps out? Rampage will shoot to almost any device in its native language and if it can't talk to the device directly (Anything made by Scitex/Creo/Kodak) you can send a 1 bit file to the device.

So if you go postscript out are you sending it to another RIP attached to the imagesetter?

I think the PS out is just a PS header on a tiff file.

so to output to a hi-res device you need to output the PS file at your output res (2400?) big files you are pushing around

I use it, but only to send to an EFI rip.

What device are you trying to send to?

To a Harlequin Rip running an old ECRM imagesetter, I'm just looking for a cheap and easy way to get files there straight from Rampage.

do you have the PDF out option?

I used to use the PS output to a harliquin driving a Pola Proofer before the RAMpage screener became available. If you have a Hardware FFP board there's a limit to the total pixles the file can create. At least as a composite, that may not exsists as seperated ps. When you hit the limit it distorts the image by scaling it to fit within the limit.
