Flexo question Rampage and Preps

Is there anyone ot there using Rampage with Flexo work, and if so (I imagine there are)
How does your work flow work, We currently make the 1up label in illustrator or Quark or Indesign, then in either a seoerate page or document, draw off bearer bars, and step and repeat the label, and distort, according to our charts for distortion.
We rip a single eps of the 1up label for proofing to customer, and we also rip the imposed miltiple up version for the film

We are trying to figure out if Preps might be able to be helpful, rather than keep setting up all of these damn bearer bars, for each job. OVER AND OVER AND OVER.. Get my drift....

I thought that I remembered seeing some info on this somewhere, but wasn't sure where...

what version of preps??

the newer versions have "smart marks", which should solve this problem.

you can set up the "cutters" in quark/indesign...... then everytime you reuse that cutter, you just use that file.. save as....etc. just keep updating the artwork efectively.

I'll second preps since you have it. It's made to do it, multi-up jobs, marks, etc.

Or in INDD you could set-up your common run, w/ marks, etc - Save As Template, and re-use it as needed.

Either way will work...
There is no need to make your guides/marks for every job now a days.

That is what we currently do, (in Quark/InDesign) but we have 1000's of dies in all shapes etc. A few months ago we started to save them into a Template folder for reuse, and it helps, just think that there has got to be a better way....
We have tried Preps, and run into a few minor problems with it, but it appears as though it will work, we just will have to start making the dies, as we get orders for them. LOTTA WORK!
Thanks for the help guys!
