Rampage Plotting and Norton Anti-Virus Auto-Protect

We recently installed Norton Anti-Virus on three Macs in our prepress department. Well...I have come to find out along with Rampage Tech Support's assistance back and forth that you cannot have Norton Anti-Virus Auto-Protect turned on in the Mac and expect to plot files from which you have MODIFY OUTPUT PARAMETERS clicked (most of the time...it can be a sporadic error.) Apparently the Server checks the unmodified specs to the newly chosen modified specs and within this few milliseconds the auto-protect feature scans a new temp file and if that temp file is being scanned it assumes it is busy and errors out. So...we were having this error on all machines and once I turned off the Auto-Protect feature everything came back to normal on all machines. Just a tip to throw out there to you guys.

Screw Norton, we've dumped them years ago. Nothing but trouble not only in the printing field but video production too.

I have ben using Macs and PC for about 15 years.

THERE is no documented virus that has eve had an ill effect on the Mac.

I quit using antu virus software on my Macs about 6 years ago and I have never had an Issue.
