well we believe weve found a better workaround - the placed dcs & and eps in illustrator works but is very time consuming - especially with exact placement of the dcs2 files (sometimes up to 7 in one layout).

So we open the files in illustrator cs2 - save as .eps , discarding transparency & preserving links, - then place the .eps in indesign and export as a .eps again - seems to work fine.

Im wondering if a pdf file might be more efficient, any other suggestions?
