Quark layout names on film instead of File names

Does anyone else have this happening... I have been looking for sometime now, and found nothing, We are getting the layout name instead of the filename from quark 6.5 when ripping exported eps's through rampage. The only thing that will work is to actually change the layout name to the file name. We use a "00000-Example" file naming system, that names our eps's "00000-Evample_01.eps, 00000-Example_02.eps" But the ripped files still come out with the filename as "Layout.eps" Why is this? and does anyone else share my pain?

Also how about any rampage specialized forums that you know of, I could check there also?

Thanks everyone!

I think that is one of quark's special "features"... I didn't like that either when I was using quark...

If I am not mistaken Quark will always use the layout name. To change go under the layout tab and select layout properties and adjust the layout name to whatever you want.

Yep, that sucks...
I noticed the samething when I couldn't find the pdfs I was generating one day. So, for a "fix" I save the file as "12345_ExampleName" > copy the name and paste it into the Layout Name under the Layout tab. Kinda reduuuundant, but it works.

Thanks anyway

Yeah, We do that already, I just don't think that it is an acceptable workaround to have to rename them all the time.

I have a keystroke for layout properties to speed that part, it's just another step, that I'd like to have eliminated.

Thought that maybe someone had come up with something better...

Are you using Fontwizard to export your EPS files? I know in the dialog box there is a check box for "layout name" I don't have it checked and get the layout name on my film. Maybe if you check it you'll get the file name LOL!

Scitex File Renamer

When I was using Scitex Brisque on OS9 -- (A while ago....) they had a nice extention that when you pressed print from any Application a new window popped up and you could rename the file to whatever you liked.. It put the File Name in there Automatically - Not sure if there is anything for OSX - not found anything yet.....

Sorry Lammy!

I didn't notice your reply, way back in Sept...
I looked at the FontWizard setting again, and the layout checkbox will name he EPS with the layout name instead of Filename.
We want the filename in both places... Nice try though Thanks!
