Illustrator 10, Rampage & Spot Transparency

Has anyone had any luck with Rampage and correctly separating Illustrator 10 files that someone has used a spot color transparency? I know the Illustrator book says they'll get "unexpected results" by using spot colors but I run into too many people that don't read the book (surprise!). I'm not up to V9 yet so please let me know if there's been any fixes lately. Thanks!

In your rip setting uncheck the option (Allow Application Overprint) and don't use dual rasterization. Your files shall rip fine and spot color preserved.

yeah..I have started to honor the application overprints and it's helped me a ton..some things still aren't perfect when you get lots of elements together, but it's almost there.

glad to hear someon esle is running into this problem! For some reason lately, ever job I get seems to have transparencies interacting with spot colors. Or, pattern fills interacting with transparencies. They've caused me plenty of headaches lately!

I came to this forum to ask how Rampage handled this, and seem to have found my answer. Thanks! My company is being courted by the Rampage guys and hopefully soon we'll be running it. I was hoping some of these problems would be taken care of by getting rid of the old RIP software I'm using now.

One more reason to be impatiently waiting for Rampage!
