Setting up Prefs for Proofing machines and varnish plates

I have a question for the RAMpage group. My last place I worked we had the service tech set up our proofing devices to ignore colors that were going to be varnish plates...(i.e. Gloss_Varnish and Dull_Varnish) What would happen is we could set the pages up in Trapit with the varnishes selected and rerip. On the proof section it would show us the dull and gloss plates to be used, but when we went to the Pictro and Dylux proofing machines it would drop these plates. Can we set these prefs up or does it have to be setup by a RAMpage service rep? Does anyone know how to set this up? We are using version 9.4.
