Rampage VS ???????

I'm curious did anyone here come from using another RIP/Workflow before using Rampage and what is your opinion about Rampage if you can compare it to what you were using. I came from a Rampage shop to a Screen TrueFlow shop and I hate it! It seems like things just don't flow through it like it did with Rampage. Thanks for your input ahead of time.

I've used a couple of work flows other than RAMPAGE, but Rampage is the one that I like the best, I like the options that you have with the rip that you don't have with others, also I think their customer support is outstanding.

Now That's my 2 cents.

I used Scitex PS/M and PS/2. I really liked it until I was exposed to RAMpage. When I came here, they were getting ready to buy Scitex. I turned them on to RAMpage, and haven't looked back! Of course, they occassionally toss something into the mix like "if we switch to APOGEE, we get a free <fill in the blank>. I have to start from square one explaining the benefits of RAMpage...

I also went to another shop that had a Delta system...Blech!

Thanks for the opinions so far. I also used Scitex PS/M which was good but once we went with Rampage it was GREAT! I'm now stuck with this Trueflow system which I think is over complicated which seems to cause more problems than we should have. :x The company has invested in this and it's going to be hard for them to change at this point.

Large sized files

We often are ripping files in the 1.2 - 1.9 gig range. Has anyone had experience with these size files on a rampage system? The new Scitex rip chew them up pretty fast.

Since Rampage uses EPS files instead of postscript, I haven't seen any files come close to that size anymore. We do some catalogs that are 48 page color that used to be rather large when we used postscript files (PSM workflow), but broken down to 48 individual EPS files, they go through the rip pretty fast!

I didn't think about it until just mentioned, but file sizes are kept really small because of omitting images, combined with individual pages that are ripped. I had forgotten the old days of writing the entire file to postscript, then ripping it. I don't miss that at all!

Hey Zirk! Hope you still online in this forum.

I feel the same with Trueflow, even working with v3.03.

I'm thinking to change my Trueflow for any other workflow better than Trueflow.

As you say, seems that JVX is better than Trueflow, that's why I'm still looking a better workflow.

It couldbe great if somebody tell me if there's a Rampage dealer in Mexico (I'm from Mexico)

Thanks in advance and hope in the future I'll join to the JVX users.

C'mon Y'all????

OMG!!!!!
I have yet to have a job that Trueflow couldn't handle...especially TF3.
At first, there were some issues with the way it was set up right out of the box, but if you apply yourself and learn the capabilities....you might be surprised at how elegant the software really is. (as with any system, I'm sure!!)
