Setting Bleed in Quark 6

Hi,

Please excuse my lack of experience, i just started doing design work for my company, and i am realizing now how little i actually know. Hopefully they wont catch on.

My question is this, when i try to set the bleed under page setup in Q6, it wont let me access the field or select it. I turned off the Custom Bleed XT and under layout it still won't let me select the field and enter a bleed measurement. I have the job done, but i need to set the bleed to 1/8.

If anyone could tell me how to do this i'd be very happy!

Thanks, sorry for the probably extremely simple question.

What's your printer? What op system are you running?

I think I'm right in thinking that QXP needs to have a ppd available and that the options available in the print dialogue depend on the printers' capabilities - eg some won't let you do separations etc.

But greyed out bleed is a real head scratcher...some more details about your equipment would help.

Are you trying to create the bleed off or print the bleed. To create the bleed you will need to extend the item 1/8 outside the page area and then when you go to print it should be highlighted
