Quark Spread Bleeds

I have a question about outputting single pages with bleeds from a Quark doc that was laid out as spreads. On full page spreads the inside bleeds are fine but when it comes to a spread that has different content on each side by side page the bleeds that are pulled from the center are from opposite page. Is there a work around for this? I have seen this many times before and have never come up with a suitable answer other than short trimming the bind edge. I hope I worded this so everyone can understand...its hard to put something visual into words but if it doesn't make sense let me know and I'll post some pics of what I'm talking about. Thanks!

What work around would you want? if a page has a spread from the next and it shows a bleed from the other side it is because it is what it is. if you just want to show single pages as expected crop to finished size for display purposes. I think that might answer your question

Well...the deal is that I'm prepping files for a magazine that is web printed. They requested single page pdfs with 1/8" bleeds. All is fine and dandy until it comes to 2 pages that aren't a full spread. The resulting pdf has as a bleed part of the page next to it. As it turns out it hasn't been a huge issues because after the trim this falls in the bind and isn't noticeable. I have had the same problem in InDesign but was able to solve it by shuffleing the pages in the layout so that pages that aren't full spreads are split up and don't cause the overlap problem. This making sense?

In Quark's Pages palette, go to the offending spread and pull the right-hand page straight down. This will split the two pages, but keep them as left and right pages and you can add the bleeds.

Before you do it, make sure nothing on the right page is touching the left one - this includes objects that touch the spine. Anything touching the left page will stay with the left page when you split them.

Here's a screenshot (pages 4 & 5 are split apart):

Wicked...I think thats exactly what I was looking for. I do the same kind of thing in InDesign but couldn't figure a way in quark. I will give this a try. Thanks a bunch.

BTW DCurry your avatar is strangely creepy who is that?
