Can't create PS file from Quark 7

we juts got 2 new intel towers (mac), and also quark 7 with the adobe cs3 design suite.

we don't have a post script printer to create a simple ps file to distill.
where are we going wrong? i have a ps printer in indesign.

so how can i install a ps driver on the mac, i knew how to do this on os9, but now i can't even find anything on the net...

You need to create a Virtual Printer. I can't remember the step-by-step specifics, but I remember that I found how to do it on Apple's discussion boards. I'm sure if you go there and do a search on Virtual Printer you'll find out how to do it.

Sorry I can't be more specific right now - kinda busy, and like I said - I just don't remember exactly! It was easy, though.

i did find out how to create the virtual printer, however, i did not belive it for a while.

before you had the option to tick a field "print to file", now you have to click in the print dialog box the "pdf" tab, and click on, "make ps from pdf". something like that.

that just sounds wrong. even if this is how you do it now. haven't worked in quark for a while, so i thought that the ps printer in indesign was a mac feature, now i know it is a indesign feature.

and a few years ago at a adobe convention, they told us that you never use the pdf function in the print dialog. don't know why, but it was just a bad thing to do....

Using the Create PDF pane and selecting the Create .PS File button is how I do it.
In OS X 10.4.10 the button is different than the 10.3.9 button, but it does the same thing.
I use the Abobe PDF virtual printer and Acrobat PPD. It seems to work just fine in our
workflow.
