black text not overprinting

im pulling my hair out on this one. I have a file, all black text is sitting on top of coloured boxes is set to OVERPRINT....when out put to a post script or even straight to a PDF the text is knocking out of those coloured boxes....i've tried on two seperate machines, i've tried many different settings....

right now running os x 10.4.8
quack 6.1

just reinstalled a post script printer according to http://www.adobe.com/support/downloa...141&fileID=141

anyone have any ideas?

Update to Quack 6.5? If it's set to overprint it should. Where did you set it?

thanks for getting back but i finally figured it out

Im using "custom" Distiller settings that another employee had created a while ago and it seems no one has ever thought to CHECK the little box that says "preserve over print settings"...oh its so simple isnt it? :lol:
