Quark Licence

My company has just taken over another printers that went out of business. I need to upgrade some of the software. How does it work with the licences for quark, do they automatically become ours as we brought their assests or can we transfer the licence or do they still remain the property of the old company.

Any input would be great.

Thanks

AjR

we purchased a printing company years ago and the licenses transferred over for us..

I just called up quark and told them what happened. They updated the registration info with our name and address.

If you have the original CDs and a serial number, it's all yours (you bought the assets, and that's an asset).

When you go to load it up, just call Quark, tell them you need to transfer to another computer, and you're good to go.

albeit, it may take a few minutes, with the overseas call and all, but it's just that easy!

I've done the same thing with Quark, a few times. It certainly can be done, but I wouldn't necessarily describe it as easy. But... maybe the "new" Quark is better.

what could be easier?

get a cup of coffee...
a comfy chair...
maybe a donut or two...

stare at the computer screen for a while, doing nothing...
with the phone hanging off your shoulder... (or if you're lucky, use the speaker phone and let everyone in the room enjoy the experience)

listen to some gawdawful music on the phone and then when you get a person, they speck so fast you can't understand a word they say...

It will only take a hour or two..
have fun with it!

kinda like being at work!

I've done it so many times, I know their names and where they live in India!
