Quark 7 FPO eps import problems

It seems that Q7 won't read the file header of our FPOs for imposing in quark CelebraNT RIP - Simalar to Nexus pages links- We use for imposing sometimes - The eps contains only preview image and file header with size colours etc.

Quark wont read the the spots and only outputs the preview images.

Anybody have simalar problem? Solutions????

You gotta link High Res, any transparency involved?

Check this link

I think my Monday brain (It was a holiday yestersday) didn't really explain the problem. I have found a simalar problem posted in the Quark fourms - but no solution

" I can place an FPO eps link file in quark 6.5 and it will import the spot colours listed in the file and put them in my color palette.

Quark 7 is not doing this!!

All I get is a placed image which has no colors added to the palette.

What is more, if I output this file to our RIP, it doesn't send the original link file, it outputs the preview (which doesn't actually have any print info, since it is an FPO link that is substituted with a CT LW later in the workflow).

This occurs whether I have OPI turned on or not (however, we do not use OPI since files and servers are fast enough now-a-days)!

We did not have this problem in Quark 6.5 and so far, using Quark 7 has been useless. "

Hope that helps!

Thanks

I could be off base with this but I think Rampage workflow uses eps in its flow and quark needs a plugin for it to work and it's called FontWizard--google it and see what you come up with.

no, that's not the problem...I thought it might have something to do with the transparancy settingd in quark, but it dosen't seem to make a difference

i've seen this problem in quark 5 upwards - occasionally.

in quack 5 to 6 you could get the content tool, highlight the image, double click and select "update" and it re-links (even if usage says its ok)

try that.

or

try re-saving the image in question, make sure a preview is available and re-import - thats worked for me as well. overwriting the original (after making a temp copy to your desktop just in case) forces quark to re-link the image - and it usually picks up the missing colours as well

good luck

oops - hadnt finished...

if the colour displays correctly in quack after trying these things, can you then "re-fpo" the image?
