does anyone use the Barcode font ? I have an ugly problem

hi all
I'm new on this forum and I have some problems... hope I'll find some answers here..
does anyone use the Barcode font ? I have this ugly problem...
I'm creating some text files, wich includes barcodes as fonts. those barcodes looks fine(formated as.. ) on other text editors, but when I'm importing the text into Quark document, the barcode it is broken
this is happening on Quark 6.5 and MacOSX Tiger..
It does work verry fine on Quark 4.1 and OS9.2 ..
So.. if you have any ideeas, or if you endured the same problem, please give me some advices

fonts are different in OSX

Many onts act different in OSX.
We hav had to get BarcodePro, to take care of that issue, we used to just use a program called PrintBar in OS9, but that and the fonts used are no longer suitable for use in OSX.
Could be same thing your seeing.
Try reading the Fonts section in this forum, might be a better place, Sorry, it's not just a quark thing.

How does the bar code look if you print the job out. The reason I ask is could it be just the preview of the file in Quark when you import into Quark that makes it look broken.

-the barcode looks fine into other kind of documents (text documents, illustrator, FileMaker...), so i dont think is a font problem, this is the reason for posting here on to Quark topics...
-it's printing wrong, not bbeing a picture (.eps or something like) and beeing a font, it should look fine...

anyway, thanks for replyes[/img]

well, it wasnt my wisdom  , just the fact that the company who sold us the barcode software and stuff... acted like a pure Romanian company (I am from Romania, by the way..).... they told that theyr software works verry well with OSX Tiger and their barcode font works fine once the barcode was generated with their soft...
so I writed to them also about this problem and they gave me an "update" for soft and font. :!: .. although I bought the LATEST version.. wich supposed to work fine with my system...
this was the "sollution"
and now the appologize
I've written here (and not only here) because I have used one of their older version of soft, plugin and barcode font without any problem... everything worked verry fine.
So please forgive me for bothering
And of course many thanks for trying to help

ive had similar problems with barcode fonts on osx...i did as mentioned above, and started using barcode pro. we do a lot of business reply work here, so barcode pro is an invaluable tool, and it eliminates pesky font trouble.

You could always save the classic Quark file with the fonts only to an eps and outline it in illy.
