Updating pdf file causes crash

I have a layout in Quack 6.5-MAC 10.3.9 - 12pg - black over black -grayscale pdf is v1.3-(but I have tried other versions as well) when I go to update the imported images from the pdf, it gets about 2-3 pgs in and the program shuts down??....... :x ->Ive also rebooted and tried with no other programs running... -> Ive tried to optimize the pdf, I tried flattening as a whole with pitstop. Is this a corrupt quark doc.?

Fer now, to get the job done, im doing a "GET PICTURE" fer each sig and will move on, but I'd like to know what or why this is happening. Anyone?

Apparently, quark does not like pdf's that have had pitstop place a jpg in them. I open the jpg and resaved as a pdf and then placed it into the original pdf with pitstop and did an update in quack and it worked fine.... ops:
