Freehand 10 eps

Hi folks,

I am in real trouble. I have a Freehand eps file and I am trying to import it in QuarkXPress 6.5. Since it is a vector art, I should get perfect background as specified in Quark ( I mean the background color should flow thorugh the edges of eps) but what I am getting is a white patch behind the eps file in QuarkXPress. If I save this freehand in window meta art file it works good. Also Illustrator eps works good. My OS is winXP ad I love and appreciate any solution or workaround from you guys.

Is this only happening in Quark as far a preview goes?
What happens when you rip the page from Quark?

Freehand 10 was the worst app I've ever seen as far as eps files go. Try to open it in Illustrator and resave as Illustrator then it will work. As long as it's a real vector eps and not a placed tiff saved as an eps from Freehand, I've seen that one too.

I guess in all the Freehand stuff I've done I've not seen that problem. The only Freehand problems I have encountered usually involve fonts.

I've been in this business for 5-1/2 years and don't think I've ever seen a freehand file.

Lucky I guess.

Haven't seen a corel file in years either.

Lucky I guess.
