White box instead of image

I'm trying to import an illustrator file ( a logo) into Quark. In Illustrator the logo is an outline to use on colored backgrounds. When I import into Quark it shows up as a white box, with no type. However, when I export to a pdf you then see the logo. What's going on? Why can't I see the logo in Quark?

When saving as an eps check your options. You may ahve the preview turned off. Or if you have a object way off to the left or top quark will read that as a placement point and you logo is just outside the picture box. Just two possibilities

Check to see if the picture box is not filling it's background with white or a color set to 0% of that color.

If the the runaround settings are set to 1pt (or any other value) the picture box background defaults with a white fill. When you PDF the doc with the runarounds set to a value, it may not preview correctly on screen, but the PDF is OK.

Just a thought...
