Get Text command in Quark

I am currently putting a book together in quark, when i use the "get text" command and import from a word file, everything seems to have worked fine, but when i check the text it is different than the original word file. Quark adds lines of text (which i have no idea where they have from, and dont even remember writing them). Could anyone give me any idea why the text i import is not the same as the text in the word file (content that is)

Thanks

Huh, that's an odd one alright. Resave the Word doc in RTF format, or plain text & import that to start. Re-open the new doc in SimpleText or another text editor to make sure there's no hidden items or oddness before you import into Quark.

I like to know what text is added. Is it Jabber, or something from another page in word? Or do you mean to say that the text is flowing differently?
That is the text has more or less lines than the Word doc. Be more specific please, this is interesting.

Yeha its weird. I am just geting text from a regular word file which is formated perfectly. I jjust switched over to INDESIGN for this project, adn it worked perfectly the first time, text if perfect, imported the text exactly the same as word file. Weird, i dont know why quark had such a hard time doing this. For now ill just use indesign for text.

Quark never was very good at importing formated text from Word. InDesign however does a very good job in fact it will even import the graphics from a word file.
