New to Quark 6.1 , having a printing problem

I'm trying to print to our printers, one is the Designjet 2500CP. I can select it in page setup and in the print dialog, I can select the right PPD ( I think ). It goes to the printer, says "receving" but then stops without printing???

What am I doing wrong???

the file is just a test file, empty picture box with a 1 point black stroke

nope, sorry, but the same thing happened. Got to the printer, said "receiving" then it said "error processing, flushing job"

And I used the actual printer IP number, not the generic 127.0.0.1, which didn't even get the job to the printer.

I can print to the same printer from Illustrator, so I don't think it's the printer that's causing it.

Thanks for the help though, can you think of anything else?

are you printing from a pc? If so, go into the printer properties and set your spooler options to start printing after the last page is spooled. It's possible your printer may try to start printing before it has all the necessary information.

Other than that, go to the manufacturer website and make sure you download the latest .ppd's/installers.

I'm on a Mac 10.3.6.

But actually my partner here at work figured it out.

In the Quark print dialog box, I had to click the "Printer" button at the bottom, then in the bottom pull down menu I selected "Color Options", then in that window, on the "Color Management" pull down menu I had to select "Enhanced Native"

Thanks for the help though, Maybe this might help others

I am on Mac OS 10.3.7, tried solution suggested by KDEC. It is not working at all,

HP Designjet2500CP (PS level3 printer)
OS 10.3.7
QuarkXPress 6.5

Other application work fine.

I wonder if it is a MAC problem.
