Quark Passport 6

Ok, being Canadian and all we get some wacky jobs.

We print for a Hotel chain in Cuba. (guess none of my bro's and sisters south of the border ever run into Cuban travel brochures!)

Anyway, the brochure is printed in english and french. (another Canadian thing.)

The Quark 6 file was supplied to us in Passport.

We just installed Quark 6 for osx never mind passport.

It's a big 40 page 4 color document and unbelieveably the document is 280MB.

My boss comes up to me today when I'm putting my coat on to go home and tells me I have to find someone around here that can open the file. I told him that if someone has Passport 6 they can probobly save it to a single language file and I could open it in Quark 6 normal. I think this is the case but I'm not totally sure.

I can only phone around to my contacts to see if anyone in town can do this for us.

I had a strange idea of opening it up in InDesign as I was driving home but wonder what kind of problems that would bring.

Anyone else dealt with passport 6 lately??

We use Quark 6 Passport and it will be a pleasure to save you file to a single language file...

Upload the file (compressed) here;

server = ftp.quadriscan.com
username = guest
password = guest

reply to this thread when ready...

I appreciate this very much and my boss thinks you may be God!! haha

I'm working on the job right now and everything is cool.

He came in this morning very concerned because he could not find anyone in our area that was using Passport 6. He thought he may have to buy it and we really don't have much time on this job to go through all that.

He wants me to get your email address so we can maybe send you something at Christmas..............or if we ever have to go through this again maybe you can help and he'll compensate you for it. Don't worry though, it's quite rare we get passport files and we have told the client from now on to save their files as single language. There's nothing worse than helping someone out then they keep coming back for more I know!!

you can send it to my home pcshaw@rogers.com if you want.

Thanks again!!

Passport is a MUST have in my option.
We deal with ads from Europe and Asia.
You can do a cross upgrade to passport from regular Quack.
I use passport 100% of the time even though only 30% of my material is from passport.

Okay Scott this is the problem with a dumb guy like me chatting up with a lot of smart people like youse guys in here. I don't understand big words like "non sequitirs".

Between working my job in prepress, prepping the igloo from the winter and hiding from the mounties on patrol around here (I am sometimes up to no good you see.) I don't have time to study.

Forgive my ignerance.
