Q7 Drop shadow is clipping pic below...HELP! NEED PROOFS TODAY!

I have a Quark 7 2/c file containing objects that have drop shadows applied. There are also pictures right underneath the drop shadows and when I rip the file to Nexus 8.4 a white bounding box appears around the drop shadow which masks out the pic underneath it. I have a call in to AWS but I need to get this job out today. Any quick suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. One thing that worked was applying a clipping path in the photoshop file and bring that in front of the drop shadow. Unfortunately that only fixes a few pages and I'm stuck with dealing with the rest.

We have had that problem with InDesign drop shadows before postscripting out of ID. The solution was to make a hi res PDF of the project and drop that into the Nexus workflow.
Hope this helps.

ChrisP,

Thanks, we're gonna try that now. I should mention that the image that's getting clipped is a 6 channel DCS file (CMYK+2PMS). There is no color in the CMYK channels.

I don't think this is a Nexus problem. It's probably occurring when it flattens when printing to PS. I'd try changing the flattening options in Quark. (Drop to your knees, cross your fingers and toes, and pray real hard as you hit the print button might help also)

Yeah, Quark supports transparency! HA!
