nah, that wouldnt be too big of a deal. have any ideas where a good place to find drivers is? took me forever to find that one.

again, maybe my ignorance shining through but, wouldnt it be using the same driver to send it out of quark as its using to send from indy? making the issue a quark one? just a thought....

To me it sounds like a color profiles being attached at output. I would try just outputting a Postscript with no color management. Then send that thu distiller or sending it to the rip and or image setter.

i believe its made by Prepress. its a Panther Plus_VR_IR. there are no profiles attached as far as I can tell

Here is a link to Adobe's download site for PrePress Solutions PPD files. There are 72 PPD's in this download. Hopefully one of them will work for you.

It occurred to me that since you're just making a .ps file, you can use a ton of different PPDs... not just your device, ie: Brisque or Prinergy PPD...
just a thought, I don't know, I was hoping it was a simple print dialogue issue.

New Twist!

Ok, figured i'd try something.... I took a pdf and output the black in indy, then took same pdf output the black in qxp. they don't even come close to matching. theres parts of screens on the one from quark that arent there in indy. it looks like its maybe trying to build the same color with different cmyk values out of each. is that possible?
