Photoshop retouching Competition

Does anyone know of any good Photoshop/Retouching competition at the moment.
Preferably online? Maybe Prepressforum will start one as well?

I'm, not aware of any on-line but I too would like to find one. I have seen through many trade publications contests for digital photos and composition (which I assume would include retouching) Check the search engines for "Graphics " oriented magazines and look through the web sites: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&i...=Google+Search

But how will we be able to tell original from retouched photo???

dear Cari...

i guess when you do some good retouching, say, a cat with a dogs head, i am sure the true professional could tell that this is not a real photograph.

but i am sure, you heard about competitions like this. we have them even in perth, called AWARD show (does have next to creative categories also artwork categories.)

I think for a really non biased competition, the governing body should find a single photo worthy of severe retouching and post it up for grabs by anyone to download and, following strict guidelines, proceed to "retouch" the photo and submit the results within a given time period. That way the "original" would not be questioned at all, and the entries could be judged fairly. Say you download in February and have 2 weeks to resubmit the results, then allowing the contest to run for say 6 months any entries could be received within the given time frame and results posted accordingly. Sounds like we need to establish our own competition right here!!

I think it's a great idea. Sparky - good idea about the single photo but why February? That's eight months away! A two week deadline would be fine for the first competition. We can always have more later.

Now that Cory has kindly given us our own upload space there is no excuse not to.
